Camp
Your surf camp right behind the dune: Our camp is located in the middle of nature - nestled between a pine forest and sand dunes, just 300 metres from the Atlantic Ocean. The ‘Les Estagnots’ bungalow complex offers everything you need for your surfing holiday: wake up, check the waves and jump straight into the sea. Whether you’re just starting out or want to take your skills to the next level, our licensed surf instructors will guide you with plenty of expertise and fun in the water. In addition to the surf course, there are plenty of leisure activities: chilling by the large pool, playing tennis, soaking up the sun or exploring the surrounding area by bike.
The small supermarket and a surf shop right in front of the centre provide you with everything you need. For a coffee, pizza or sundowner, there are bars, bakeries and restaurants right in Seignosse-Le Penon. If you fancy a night out, the clubs in Hossegor or Capbreton are just a few minutes away by car.
Experience Seignosse: The town is ideal for switching off, surfing and being active: endless sandy beaches, pine forests, lakes and perfect waves - also ideal for beginners. In the surrounding area you will also find skate parks (Capbreton, Le Penon), bike hire (directly on site), doctors and pharmacies as well as cash machines (e.g. in Le Penon or Hossegor).
Our camp management and the experienced Wavetours team are always there for you - whether it’s a surf course, questions about accommodation or tips for excursions. Our surf base is located directly on the site - this is where the courses start and where everyone who wants to go to sea meets up.
Lodging
Your home by the sea: At the surf camp, you will stay in comfortable bungalows at the ‘Club Belambra - Les Estagnots Mer’ complex - directly behind the dune, just a few steps from the Atlantic Ocean. Surfing
Whether it’s your first waves or fine-tuning your line-up - in our surf courses you’ll get exactly the level that suits you. Over five days, our licensed coaches will teach you everything you need to know to get started or progress in surfing. The surf courses include 5 x 1.5 hours of pure surfing time and 2.5 hours of instruction and theory, where you will learn exciting topics such as meteorology and wave formation – a total of 10 hours.
Inclusive: 10 hours incl. material for the course time.
As surfing is a natural sport, the course schedule depends on the local conditions.
Beginner
Never been on a board before? Then this course is just right for you. You will get to know the gliding behaviour on broken waves, learn how to move safely in the water and take your first steps towards take-off.
Basic
Have you already done a course or went surfing years ago? Then we’ll help you brush up on your basics and improve them in a targeted way - on the way to your first green wave.
Intermediate
Do you have green wave experience? Then this is the right place to start. We’ll work on your turns, your timing in the line-up and take you step by step towards independent surfing. Your coach will pick you up exactly where you are.
Advanced
Unfortunately, advanced surfers cannot book a course with us, but can of course hire equipment. Prerequisites: safe take-off, surfing in shoulder-high waves (frontside & backside), line-up know-how.
Alternatively, you can register for the intermediate course.
Surf team & safety
Our surf coaches come from Germany and all over Europe - and in addition to didactic expertise, they have one thing above all else: A passion for surfing! All instructors are trained beach lifeguards and licenced by: ISA (International Surfing Association), DWV (German Surfing Association), SLSGB (Surf Life Saving Great Britain).
✔ Supervision ratio max. 1:8
✔ Warm-up before each session
✔ Training on softboards for maximum safety
Equipment
We will provide you with a board and wetsuit for the duration of your lessons. If you want to go surfing on your own, board hire is just right for you.
Beginners can use the equipment after the 3rd day of the course for an extra charge if they have mastered the safety rules. Advanced surfers can surf on their own from the first day.
Optional: Board rental is €90 p.p. per week.
Activities
There’s also plenty to experience away from the waves. The holiday resort offers two pools, a playground, sports and tennis courts - ideal for relaxing or for a bit of action in between. Seignosse is ideally located for day trips to the Basque Country or short adventures in between.
Trips & surroundings
Discover San Sebastian on our weekly trip! In the morning, we take the bus to Spain, where you have the choice of either exploring the sights of the city with us or strolling through the numerous shops. In the evening, we’ll enjoy tapas together and relax at the end of the day before heading back to camp.
Optional: San Sebastian by Night trip for €30 p.p.
