During the best months for surfing here (November to April) we offer a high-class surf trip for passionate surfers. The concept of our 7-day trip is to catch the best waves along the Ecuadorian coast. With our tour guides and 4WD truck, small group of max. 6 surfers will go after the perfect wave.
Part of an authentic surf trip is to be on the road/ beach every day with our head tour guide Eddie, not knowing in the morning where you will be staying the next night. Only the waves will guide your way and, casually, you will get to know almost the complete Ecuadorian coastline. To really get to surf the best waves on the 7-day trip the tour guides are in touch with the camp base in Canoa every day. Thanks to the Internet, cellphones, military reports and the personal experience of your guides, you can be assured that you will make the most out of every single day.
Spots and Surfing
The Ecuadoriancoast has more than 30 spots to offer – you will get to know new spots on every day of your tour. There are always surfable beachbreaks, reefbreaks and points ranging from two to ten foot. Ecuador's swell window is bigger than 180° - it receives swells from the northwest, southwest and south. Ecuador's waves are comparable to Costa Rica, only without the crowds. Its world-class beachbreaks vary from fun waves to fast and hollow waves. Its pointbreaks are well-known for its length – many are longer than 2000ft.
The following spots are part of the tour's repertoire:
- North coast breaks: Mompiche, Playa Negra, Canoa
- Central coast breaks: Escondido, San Lorenzo, Iliguique, Santa Rosa, Pipelines of - Puerto Cayo, San Mateo, Rio Chico, La Playita, Las Tunas, Montanina
- South coast breaks: Cautivos, Punta Blanca, Coito, Chuyuipe, FAE, Chocolatera, Death Point, Shit Bay, Playas
Many southern spots are situated within a military area you are not allowed to trespass without an official authorisation. Our tourguides dispose of such an authorization and make it thus possible to surf a variety of unsurfed spots.
